Vanilla & Pain Aux Raisins, a childhood favorite.
These soft, sweet rolls filled with creamy pastry cream and plump raisins have always held a special place in my heart. Pain Aux Raisins is a classic French pastry—something you’d find in the charming bakeries of Paris. But for me, it’s tied to my childhood, where my Norwegian mom would make her own version at home.
Whenever we had visitors, my mom would bake these rolls, and they never failed to impress. She always finished them with a warm glaze of apricot jam, which gave them a gorgeous shine and added an incredible flavor that truly elevated them. That little touch took regular sweet rolls to the next level, and I can still remember our guests saying, “Wow, these are something special!”
Making these rolls feels like a warm hug from my past, and I hope they bring a little bit of that same cozy, homemade magic to your kitchen too.
