Delicate, featherlight meringue cookies that are crispy, melt-in-your-mouth, and infused with the warm, spicy flavors of tea. These pastel-colored meringue kisses make a beautiful topping for holiday cakes or a delightful treat on their own.
I wanted to go beyond the traditional vanilla and add something unique to my meringues. Inspired by a midnight idea, I decided to flavor these cookies with tea, and the result was magical! You can choose any tea flavor you love and infuse it directly into your meringues for an elevated twist.
For this recipe, I used Hot Cinnamon Black Tea – a black tea blend with orange peel, three types of cinnamon, and cloves, giving these meringues a flavor reminiscent of classic red hots cinnamon candy. This method opens up endless possibilities: experiment with your favorite teas for unique meringue flavors!
When making tea-flavored meringues, remember to choose a high-quality, strong tea so that the flavor shines through.
I hope you enjoy creating and tasting these tea-inspired treats as much as I did!
