Manuela Kjeilen is a Norwegian full-time blogger, author, lecturer, photographer and home baker. She started blogging in 2010, knowing little about the journey on which her blog would take her. Manuela later embarked upon a career as a cookbook author and baking personality. One year after starting passionforbaking.com the blog was voted Norway’s most beloved blog, competing with 250 nominees including high-profile fashion and lifestyle bloggers.
Her first book, Love, Manuela, was published in 2011 and became an instant best-seller. Since then Manuela has published no less than 7 more baking books, her latest book was released in October this year. Her Instagram account, @passionforbaking, has a whopping 1.3 million followers – and counting.
Manuela spends most of her time in her studio kitchen where she works on new ideas for book projects, collaborators, articles, and of course for the blog itself. These days Passion4Baking the Magazine is the centre of attention as Manuela will launch her brand new digital magazine this fall. The fans and followers’ genuine interest and endless requests for her books and recipes in English is the reason for publishing Passion4Baking the Magazine. Choosing the digital format was the only way to reach everyone anywhere, anytime and on any devices. Later this year Manuela starts filming for her first baking series which will air on national television from late 2015 or early 2016.
Though Manuela has enjoyed a successful career in baking, she is not a trained pastry chef. She is self-taught, and the five years of blogging developed into a steep learning curve, both when it comes to baking, recipe writing, photography and business in general. She emphasises that she bakes for her own pleasure, for enjoyment, and that she finds baking therapeutic.
Manuela is the mother of 5 from ages 16-27, and she lives in Sweden with her family.
