Making hot chocolate is one of the coziest treats, especially around the holiday season.
This hot chocolate recipe is super easy to make. I use whole milk and grated bittersweet dark chocolate.
This hot chocolate is rich and creamy. I love serving it with lightly whipped cream and a few teaspoons of salted caramel sugar on top. The caramel sugar, when it sits on top of the cold cream, turns into tiny toffee bites. You just have to try it—it’s so good.
During the holiday season, I always make vanilla bean marshmallows. Adding these to my hot chocolate is a perfect match.
I use 66% to 70% bittersweet chocolate whenever I make hot chocolate. If you use semisweet, keep in mind your hot chocolate is going to be a bit sweeter.
